Dr. Liang Tao received his bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and Computer Science and later Ph.D. in Biology at University of Science and Technology of China in 2005 and 2010. After two years of postdoctoral research at Kansas University Medical Center, he joined Dr. Min Dong's lab at Harvard Medical School. In 2017, he was promoted to instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tao started his independent lab at Westlake University as a tenure-track assistant professor in September 2018. In July 2024, he was promoted to tenured associate professor in the School of Medicine and School of Life Sciences at Westlake University.
Dr. Tao’s research interests include the pathogenesis of bacterial infections, molecular mechanisms of toxin actions, translational research on the application and development of toxin derivatives, and principles of host-microbiota regulations.
