Dr. Liang Tao is an assistant professor in the School of Medicine and School of Life Sciences at Westlake University. He received his bachelor’s degree in both Life Sciences and Computer Science and later Ph.D. degree in Biology at University of Science and Technology of China in 2005 and 2010. Following two years of postdoctoral research at Kansas University Medical Center, he joined Dr. Min Dong's lab at Harvard Medical School. In 2017, he was promoted to the junior faculty rank of instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tao started his independent lab at Westlake University in September 2018. Dr. Tao’s research interests include the pathogenesis of bacterial infections, molecular mechanisms of toxin actions, translational research on the application and development of toxin derivatives, and principles of host-microbiota regulations.
